Does Rico's have a kid's menu??
Filet mignon..mmm mmm
Good food. The wait staff needs more training on the menu items.
Lovely, lively atmosphere for the holidays. Our waitress. Janice, was attentive but not overly so. Rico's is a long respected restaurant. Consequently, their menu has not changed over many years. If you are looking for classic (old fashioned?) menu...this is the place for you. Good food...good service...doesn't knock your socks off...but you leave satisfied.
MoreMy family has been going their for years. Exceptional food every time. Service is phenomenal, never a let down.
MoreThis was our first visit to this restaurant, but it will definitely not be the last. The menu is diverse with something for everyone. We don't normally have dessert, but after a pair of excellent steaks, we had some great desserts. A perfect finish to a first rate dining experience. The staff is a fine complement to the food. Everyone was friendly and made us feel welcome there.
MoreWe didn't realize that it was a fancy white tablecloth restaurant but they welcomed us in our motorcycle gear and the food and wine was delicious and not at all highly priced. We definitely return.
MoreMy husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary today at Rico's. We visited with Rico reminiscing how 25 years ago we were his first wedding reception in his restaurant. Rico and Vince remembered that our wedding cake had been sliced in a circle so everyone could take a piece home to freeze and eat a year later. Vince and I took home the top layer with our Precious Moments Bride and Groom on top that we enjoyed on our 1st wedding anniversary-August 8, 1993.
MoreI said it before and I’ll say it again. This is the absolute best restaurant in Pittsburgh. Maybe the best restaurant in America. The service is out of this world. The food is unreal. Anything on the menu is 10/10. And if you don’t see something on the menu you want, ask and they’ll make it for you. PS. Get the table side Cesar salad and ask for Donnie to make it.
MoreBest combo of food and service in Pittsburgh! Have to try the Caesar salad prepared table side and the fried zucchini is the best I ever had..hands down!
MoreIt was really basic. They had no real parmesan for the Cesar salad, no straws for drinks bread was cold, but stuffed shrimp and crab was ok. It was a real old looking place.
MoreWas surprised how absolutely rare and hard to eat my steak was.who knew
This iconic NHills rest most noteable attribute is the service the menu for (NYE) offered a wide variety of starters, entrees, sides & deserts served presented nicely & at the right-temp; proportions were definitely generous; pretentious NYC pricing and the dated decor & flatware that's visually beyond prime were the basis for the rating
MoreWe attended a family get together and had never been to Rico's before. What a pleasure. Since we did not want to be late,, we arrived early and we were very well attended while waiting. The large room in the back easily held 80 relatives. The terraced garden outside added to the fun of all our pictures. Then the dinners arrived, wonderful, simply delicious, all of it. The deserts came out in waves so we picked and chooses what we wanted. WOW!. Going back as soon as I loose some weight😋
MoreSecond time at Rico’s- again an amazing evening. We were with a table of six and shared zucchini as our appetizer which was light, crispy and delicious as was our caesar salad (prepared table side). My entry was the lemon sole stuffed with crab meat!! Mouthwateringly incredible! We topped it off an incredible pecan ice cream ball with chocolate. A night to remember. Everything about the night was enjoyable and David treated us like we were VIPs.
MoreThree of us had dinner on Friday, 12/27/2019. The experience was less than satisfying: Our waitress seemed awkward, mispronounced Italian words, and didn't answer questions. We decided to order the house salad; she asked if we wanted gorgonzola on it. I asked whether or not that increased the price. She ignored the question. We discovered an increase of $5.00 for each salad with the cheese, from $2.50 to $7.50! The house dressing was also very strong, far too much vinegar. All our main menu selections were far too salty. Back home we became so thirsty, we had to drink several glasses of water.Thank you for this forum.
MoreThe wine list is fantastic and goes well with the meals, Always a pleasure. Just moved back to Pgh and it was my first stop. Just as I remember it, my Happy hour hangout, I would watch what was served before making my decision.....
MoreDuring the great quarantine of 2020, we picked up a great dinners for the family. Can't wait to visit and eat in house soon. Best Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh.
MoreI would leave 6 if I could. Always excellent food and amazing service. They make you feel like your the only table there. Will continue to come here forever.
MoreGreat food, lovely ambience, attentive service and genuine Italian cuisine. A large house-like restaurant tucked away in Rico Lane, just aside from the busy McKnight Road is a warm experience to enjoy. Longstanding restaurant made famous for their food and wine is worth a visit. Their salads and appetizers are notably good; as solid as their entrées. Parking is only by friend valets, so bear in mind to consider a few extra minutes.
MoreThere were 5 of us for dinner. All meals were excellent!!!
My meal was great. The place wasn't crowded at all for lunch and the service was excellent.
MoreWonderful food, atmosphere, & very special service by Sadie, our waitressWould recommend to all, can't wait to go back
MoreWaited over an hour and a half when we were told 30 minutes. Would have left but they valeted the car and we had already been waiting long enough and were just hungry. It’s a dated and old restaurant and from the decor to the staff. For what it cost to eat here, save your money and go somewhere else.
MoreDavid the owner is a class act! Rico's has great food - I've never been even close to disappointed. The wait staff is attentive and friendly. It's a warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor and the older crowd the restaurant draws will occasionally give you the feeling that the place is a bit dated but you need to push past that because it is a very nice place to have dinner.
MoreIf we could give 20 stars we would. From the manager Trish to our waitress to the wine guy Carl our experience overly exceeded our expectations. We felt like we found our restaurant “home”. The food was incredible and the service outstanding. Will be back many many times!
MoreSignature angel hair with crab add on was delicious. There was an issue with an entrée but they bent over backwards to make it right. Excellent management. They were sweet people.
MoreThe elegant atmosphere and the tasteful Buffet it's on display for my friends memorial service was absolutely amazing. I love this place. I normally get the veal parmesan and I've never been disappointed. Located
MoreYou will not regret coming here! We've never had a bad experience coming here. The food is so delicious and we are tough Italians to please. The tableside Caesar salad, the homemade provolone sticks (which you can order any number you like), the tender veal! You cannot go wrong!
MoreAfter many years of dining here we had the worst experience ever. The waitress had zero personality. The price gouging for the appetizer ( $15 for 3 slices of tomato and cheese and a split charge to cut a tomato slice in half which we did NOT ask for the order to be split!) Waitress did take the split charge off the check however even though we asked several times to speak to a manager or owner nobody came to see us. The Valet gentleman had the best service of the entire establishment. He went above and beyond to hear our complaint and went and got a card to contact the owner. We did follow up with a phone call but were not offered any compensation at all. We fully understand the rising cost of food etc. however the egregious costs of some of the items on the menu are far above the industry standard of 67% markup. VERY disappointing to take Riccos off our list of dining establishments!!
